Love at First Layer Lasagna

Ingredients

9 lasagna noodles, cooked
1 lb ground beef or turkey
24 oz jar marinara sauce
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and mix in marinara sauce.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, 1/3 of the meat sauce, and 1/3 of the mozzarella.
  6. Repeat layers twice more, ending with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
